ANDREWS DOMINATES FORMULA FORD RETURN IN AUS

Australian Scott Andrews made his return to Formula Ford at Winton Motor Raceway, Victoria, Australia.

The Formula Ford ace hadn't sat in an open wheel race car since the end of 2015, but the 26 year old from Torquay quickly got up to speed on the unfamiliar Yokohama tyre but very familiar Spectrum chassis, topping Friday practice.

"Luke Ellery from EME had contacted me on my return from the US regarding a drive in his F1600 car. I was very excited about the opportunity to work with Luke as he is a good friend, but also know he runs a very tight ship," Scott stated. "Plus I really enjoy driving Formula Fords. You have to be really on your game to get the most out of these cars."

Andrews qualified on the pole position ahead of championship leader Jake Hobbs, but had difficulty in the first of the three races finding himself involved in a crash with one of the faster Duratec-powered cars.

"It's disappointing because we just wanted to come here and showcase the performance and reliability of Luke's Spectrum 010, and now we have a car with 2 wheels on it. We should get it fixed for tomorrow but it's not ideal" Scott said.

On Sunday, Scott and team EME bounced back to record 2 race wins, 2 fastest laps and the overall round win.

"Today went much better than yesterday obviously and it feels great! The car was faultless and a big thanks goes out to Luke, John and the whole EME squad" concluded Andrews.
